Let’s face it, not many of us look like models or mannequins. What looks good in the store won’t necessarily look good in the bedroom mirror, but that doesn’t mean you have to forego the fashions you crave. Getting into a fitness regime will help you stay healthy while you achieve the optimum shape for your body type, and isn’t that what really counts?
Before you shake your head and leave the page, honestly evaluate the shape you’re in. If you’re like most of us, you have a few too many curves and some extra pounds here and there. You’re probably busy with work, school, and your social life, and don’t think you have time to work out at the gym.
What you may not realize is how little time it actually takes. An hour at the gym will give you many more, because once you get started you’ll have more energy. More energy means more time to do the things you love, like shop for the clothes you wish you could wear. Like most things in life, it’s a cycle. You just have to take the first steps.
Check out gyms in your area, and find a workout partner. Don’t lose faith if you don’t like the first thing you try; there’s yoga and zumba and crossfit training and dozens of other things you can do to get in shape. Even walking for 20 minutes a few times a week will tone up your muscles and energize your body!
The main thing it to start on your road to fitness recovery, and to dedicate a bit of your life into making it more enjoyable. Studies show obesity, diabetes, and heart disease are skyrocketing, and the main reason is that we don’t have enough activity in our busy lifestyles. Once you make it part of your day, you’ll find it easier to include fitness in your routine.
So the next time you head out shopping, put “check out gym” on your list. While you’re at it, remember to park as far away from the store as it is safely possible, and add those extra steps to your workout list!
